A comical war against aliens, or a dramatic dance war against the one-percent? Pick your cinematic poison, because those are the plotlines of the two new movies opening in wide-release this weekend.

In ‘The Watch,’ four everyday guys come together to form a neighborhood watch group and discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, leaving them no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination.

And in ‘Step Up: Revolution,’ two romantically-intertwined dancers risk their professional performance dreams to fight for a greater cause when they band together with their urban troupe to battle the corporate development of a historic neighborhood that will displace thousands of people.

Here’s a sneak peek.
