As you know, my favorite group in the world is Huey Lewis & The News. The first time I saw them in concert was when they were the opening act for Loverboy in 1981. I've seen them over a dozen plus times through the years. The most recent was last summer (2012) at Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque.

The album 'Sports' is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with an Anniversary Edition, featuring a second disc of live tracks in the albums same sequence.

Here are five facts you may not know about their freshman album, 'Sports.'

#1. The original working title of the lead off track was, 'The Heart Of Rock & Roll Is In Cleveland.'

#2. The album spawned four top 10 hits.

#3. Heart & Soul was on a demo recorded by the group Exile ('Kiss You All Over').

#4. Huey Lewis & The News sued Ray Parker, Jr. because of the similarity, over the base line, of 'Ghostbusters' and 'I Want A New Drug.'

#5. The album cover was shot at the 2 A.M Club in Mill Valley, CA. Huey and the News performed there a lot during their early days.

Here's a little treat for ya. These two pics were taken 30 years apart.
