There's little doubt No Doubt will reunite some day, the group's bassist Tony Kanal insists.

Kanal, who's gone on to kickstart three-piece group DREAMCAR since Gwen Stefani's tumultuous 2015 divorce from Gavin Rossdale, told W.E.N.N. in a story published yesterday (April 23) that he's sure the gang will get back together again. No Doubt's last album, Push and Shovedropped in 2012 to lukewarm response and sales.

“I think we’re on an indefinite hiatus right now," Kanal said. "I would say we will definitely play at some point, but there haven’t been any plans or anything.”

At least one of Kanal's former No Doubt bandmates sees things a little differently, though. In a June 2016 interview with Rolling StoneStefani said she couldn't reasonably see a future in which No Doubt thrived. Push and Shove proved the band's best days are definitely behind them, she said.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with No Doubt,” she said. “When Tony and I are connected creatively, it’s magic. But I think we’ve grown apart as far as what kind of music we want to make. I was really drained and burned out when we recorded the album. And I had a lot of guilt: ‘I have to do it.’ That’s not the right setting to make music."

“There’s some really great writing on that record. But the production felt really conflicted," she added. "It was sad how we all waited that long to put something out and it didn’t get heard.”
