The Top 5 songs on the Billboard Chart this week was a snapshot of pop culture.

We were being introduced to Bobby Brown and the New Edition with "Cool It Now" (#5), Led Zeppelin front-man; Robert Plant was swimming in the "Sea Of Love" (#4) with his side project called the Honeydrippers ,Hall & Oates kicked off their Big Bam Boom tour in Bangor, Maine and had a hit with "Out Of Touch (#3) and Duran Duran was in the pole-position (#2) with "Wild Boys".

But it would be a defining moment for a former young dancer named Madonna who was holding down the #1 spot. The song would come off her second album and go on to be her first #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

By July 1985, the album would become the first album by a female artist to sell five-million units in the United States.

For the first of 5 weeks at #1 it's Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
