We're less than a month away from the release of 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' and for those excited, it's good to know February is a short month. Drawn from the works of L. Frank Baum (and the success of Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'), Sam Raimi's film looks big and weird and we're nothing if not curious. Here's two new TV spots to whet appetites.

And we have to say our biggest concern is 'Alice in Wonderland' at this point. That film made a billion dollars worldwide, but that was partly because it was a 3D film in the wake of 'Avatar.' The film itself was problematic at best. And this comes from that same re-imagining cloth that looks to take a popular kids story and turn it into a big budget Imax thrill ride, regardless of how silly its narrative becomes trying to give the kids classics set pieces.

Despite the fact that most people's awareness of 'Oz' is through the 1939 film (which portrays the fantasy world as simply that: fantasy), we have high hopes that master magician Sam Raimi, and his cast of James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams wouldn't just be making crap. 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' opens March 8, and here are those two TV spots:
