Weird Al's "Alpocalypse' concert is coming to Comedy Central this Saturday night, so I thought I would bring back this 'archived' interview I did.

'Weird Al' Yankovic's new cd, 'Alpocolypse' drops into stores and available for digital download tomorrow (June 21). Earlier I posted about my top 10 favorite Al tunes, but I thought it would be nice to open up my interview 'vault' and treat you to some segments of an interview I did, in studio, with Al back in 2000.

This was recorded during my afternoon shift when I was working at KZOZ-FM in San Luis Obispo, CA. To set up the interview, Al was promoting his latest cd at the time,  'Running With Scissors.' So a lot of our conversation is geared towards that album.

Al talks about 'The Saga Begins" and since he wasn't able to get a script, where he found his information to write the lyrics.

Al talks about his 'writing process' and what he majored in in college at Cal Poly.

Al talks 'Best compliment,' who has said 'no' and where does he get some of his 'sets' for the videos.

Al talks 'Naked Gun,' Rarities and 'A Song for San Luis.'

Al talks about UHF and what he would like to do someday.

Well, there ya have it. Thanks for checking out my archived interview with Al. On a side note, if you EVER get a chance to see him in concert, do yourself a favor and check out the show. You won't be disappointed. Or you can always head to his website and purchase the DVD of his live show.
