Sarah Jessica Parker Joining TV Crime Drama ‘Busted’
Sarah Jessica Parker is eyeing her return to television!
The former 'Sex and the City' star is joining a TV crime series based on the non-fiction book 'Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love.'
The Hollywood Reporter says that the book, written by investigative reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, will be turned into a limited-run one-hour drama. Published in March, Ruderman and Laker chronicled their 10-month experience uncovering one of Philadelphia's biggest law enforcement corruption scandals.
Parker will play one of two lead characters. The other lead has not been announced yet.
Co-producing the series is Anonymous Content, who was behind HBO's breakout success 'True Detective' starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Simmy Kimmel Entertainment is also producing the series with Anonymous Content.
David Frankel, who directed several episodes of 'Sex and the City,' will be directing the pilot while Don Roos will be penning the script.
Once the pilot is complete, the show will be shopped around to networks for a pickup.
