Scotty McCreary and Lauren Alaina Compete Tonight for the Title of American Idol

I'll be honest with you.  When I watch American Idol it is usually on in the background.  I haven't really paid attention to it in years past, especially after Season 5 when Chris Daughtry was voted off in 4th place and Taylor Hicks (we all know how successful his career has been) won that season.  I usually just pay attention enough to have something to share with you on the air about the show.  However, this season has been different.I don't know if it is the fact Simon Cowell is gone and the mean spirit of the show is no longer lingering in the air.  It could be that a ton of people Simon would have never given a chance are now being put through to Hollywood.  Then again a ton of talented kids are turning 15 and are eligible to compete.  I do know that this is a very talented season on American Idol.

Tonight Scotty McCreary and Lauren Alaina will battle it out for the title of American Idol.  No matter who wins, they will have a huge country music career ahead of them.

Last week 95 million votes were cast.  I can only imagine how many votes will be cast tonight after the country crooners finish their performances.

If I were a betting woman, which I'm not, I would put my money on Scotty McCreary.

It's a love hate relationship when it comes to Scotty and people, but I do know a ton of girls, young, tween, teen, moms, and grandmas love Scotty.

Don't forget the performance show airs tonight on Fox at 7pm.
