Selena Gomez tore a page from her ex Justin Bieber's book this weekend. The starlet, fresh off her latest split (and a few possible rebounds), took the stage at her private UNICEF concert in New York City and covered Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me a River' -- just like Biebs did after one of their first splits in November 2012.

Us Weekly reports that just before launching into an acoustic cover of JT's smash, Gomez told the crowd, "I've been through a lot the past few months. It's been weird and sad and cool ... this song definitely speaks to me." Interesting! A source at the event also reported that Gomez seemed "angry" during the song.

Gomez also talked to press about her new musical endeavors, and you can expect to dig some dirt on her new record. (Maybe she's taking advice from her BFF Taylor Swift, whose track 'I Knew You Were Trouble' she also covered that night!) "I'm a little bit more mouthy. I'm a little bit older. I've got a little more sass. [I'm] telling a lot more, too."

The 'Who Says' singer also covered Britney Spears' 'Hit Me Baby One More Time,' perhaps referencing all the Spears covers in her latest edgy film, Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers.' Two generations of teen pop collided!
