Sportsmanship and humanity were on display full force recently in a Ukrainian Premier League soccer match when one player saved the life of an opponent after a scary collision.

The above video is not in English, but it's still compelling and frightening.

Dnipro midfielder Jaba Kankava rushed to the aide of Dynamo Kiev's Oleg Gusev after swallowed his tongue when he got hit by the goalie's knee while going for the ball.

Kankava swiftly placed his hand in Gusev's throat to make sure nothing obstructed it. Amazingly, Gusev regained consciousness before he was taken to a hospital.

A team doctor said, "He sustained medium concussion, several bruises and a bruised jaw. He is lucky to have such light injuries. His spine, skull and bones are all intact – no breaks or fractures."
