This is some sad, sad news for Coldplay fans! The band, who has spent a majority of 2012 on the road, decided that they would take it easy next year and take the entire year off! If only we had a job that allowed us to take an entire year off.

Coldplay and the Beastie Boys? On paper and in theory, that doesn’t quite work. As one of the U.K.’s greatest exports and possibly the biggest band in the world right now, Coldplay are pretty much guaranteed to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, right? Nothing is confirmed, but the band seemed to hint at a possible Olympic performance in a new interview with ET Canada.
