Casey Kasem, the radio legend who hosted the weekly 'American Top 40' program in its various incarnations from 1970-2004, has died.

We ended up spotlighting 1988 this week at 5pm for our Top 10 Countdown.   Trivia: Do you know the major event that happened in Music History this week?

During my vacation I was cleaning around the house and stumbled across some old music playlists from the early part of the 80s. Some of them were year end countdown lists. I thought since we're coming up on a brand new year that it might be fun to take a look back at the Top 40 songs that were the biggest hits of 1983.
