Growing up in the Texas Panhandle you know all about the bodies of water around. Who doesn't love taking a trip to the lake. Growing up I remember hearing my parents talk about going to Buffalo Lake. Well that lake is now gone. Our kids will now hear us talking about going to Lake Meredith, however, its quite possible that this lake could disappear before it is all said and done.

Halloween is the time for pumpkins. I personally don't go all out with the pumpkins at Halloween. We get two big pumpkins and two small ones. That's usually it, but I don't like spending more than $20 on pumpkins. However with that said, I guess I should start expecting to pay at least $40 for my 4 pumpkins.

So in the middle of the night last night, my dog started barking, then jumped on top of me and started shaking. It took me a second to realize that it was thundering and she hates thunder. Then after realizing it was thundering I stopped and listened and heard the most wonderful sound, the sound of rain.
