Last week we had some beautiful days, so we  packed up the kids when Daddy got home from work and off to the park we went.  It was so very nice.  The kids went to the playground, Daddy and Mommy went for a walk, and it was such a great time.

There is one question that plagues me daily… “What’s for dinner?”  While it may sound simple for some, just the idea of meal planning for my family stresses me out.

Like so many other things in my life, blah woe is me, I dropped the ball in turning in my Sunday night homework last week. Big surprise. I literally floated through the weekend and Monday morning came and I had never given a single thought to writing up a blog. Mom brain, much? Mom-in-the-middle-of-planning-a-first-birthday-party brain is more like it.

Ever feel like you're caught in a figurative monsoon? It has certainly been one of those weeks for me. Nothing that ice cream or a cupcake or a funny conversation with one of my kiddos can't fix. I've just found myself tripping over a bunch of messy odds and ends that were also tied up with some bad luck.

As a younger adult/teen, I never thought a shower would be so wonderful.  Sometimes as a parent the shower is my escape, my sweet quiet moment from the chaos of having 6 kids in a really small house.

During Spring Break, one thing that I did manage to accomplish was crossing a few movies off of my watch list.  One of those happened to be the documentary "Bully".  If you haven’t seen this film, I would definitely recommend it.

This weekend I visited California, So Cal.  I had a good time, except I couldn’t help but notice the superiority of each person as they realized I was from Texas.  When I would ask for sweet tea, they would look at me funny.  As I would prepay for my gas for my suburban the looks of “how dare I ruin the environment” would ensue.  As I would actually use my blinker to ask and inform other drivers o

Ahhh, Spring Break!!  For many, this indicates a break from school, a break from work, and vacation time.  As tempted as I was to just get away for a few days this year, my sensible side won and I chose to stay home and play catch up. This didn’t stop the rest of the family from enjoying their break though, so this week I find myself home alone in an uncomfortably quiet house.

Once again Daddy had to leave the nest and fly out of town for the week. Leaving his two girls to the house and dogs.
