I have heard some interesting punishments from parents who are trying to get through to their kids. Some parents make their kids stand on a busy intersection holding a sign saying what they did wrong. Others, make their kids do manual labor. However, in a society where spanking doesn't occur much anymore, this Colorado mother thought she would try something different.

Remember the old story your parents used to tell you about how they had to walk 10 miles in the snow uphill and downhill just to get to school. Well we all know that was probably not true it was more like 2 miles, but hey who is counting. Apparently, a mother in Jonesboro, AR, punished her child by making him walk 4.5 miles to school. The mother was given a citation and now faces one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
