Texas Chainsaw Massacre Again?

I love a good scary/horror movie.  I like to be scared, however, some don't scare you at all and others scare you to where you don't want to sleep by yourself.  For me, The Strangers was that kind of scary movie, I still get goose bumps when I think about it.  Back in 1974 one particular movie did that to most people.  The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in theaters.   Many remakes and redos of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre have hit the big screen over the years. Some were scary and some just down right ridiculous.  

Let's take a trip down memory lane with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The Original  Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in 1974

It may look cheesy now but I'm guessing in 1974 it was terrifying

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was released in 1986

This sequel starred the great Dennis Hopper.

Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III was released in 1990

Viggo Mortensen starred in this version as Tex.

The year 1994 brought us Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation which was pure cheese.  I still wonder why I sat through this movie.  This one starred two up and coming Texas actors, one went on to win an Oscar, the other is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood today.

Seriously this movie was bad!

Then in 2003, Hollywood decided we needed a remake of the original and released The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  This was the beginning of the horror film remakes.

This one starred Jessica Biel, R. Lee Ermey and was produced by Michael Bay.

The 2003 remake was such a box office success, that they decided to do the prequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, released in 2006.  It tells the story of  Leatherface.

Well get ready, Entertainment Weekly reports the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is being remade again.  This time it will be called the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D so I'm sure the chainsaw will come at you and  blood will surely fly as well.  It is set to start production in June.
