The Texas Department of Transportation along with the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization are having a meeting to discuss some updates on I-40.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 1st, from 5:30-8:00pm.  The meeting will take place at the Wesley Community Center, located at 1615 S. Roberts.

They will be providing information and displaying exhibits related to the upcoming project and a representative from TxDOT will give a short presentation.

The proposed project will include improvements to I-40 between Washington and Ross, including bridge replacements at Arthur and Ross, new pavement, ramps, and intersection improvements at Ross.  Plus other miscellaneous improvements.

After the presentation, they will be taking questions and comments from those in attendance.  If you are interested in this project you are encouraged to attend this meeting to voice your opinions, concerns and ask questions.

If you are interested in the construction and when it might start then you will be able to obtain, tentative construction schedules at the District Office.

In other news involving the Texas Department of Transportation, The Texas Transportation Commission approved 22 projects for roadway construction, rehabilitation and restoration.  Our district had a project approved for the paving on US 87 in Hartley and Dallam counties.  The project is estimated to cost over $26.5 million and they received $5.6 million from the Proposition 1 funding.
