Planning a shopping trip?  Planning to head out to the Plaza, Furrs or Red Robin, by way of Soncy.  Heading to the mall?  Well you will have to change your route because the intersection of I-40 and Soncy will be closed as they demolish the bridge.

The demolition will start tomorrow and the intersection will be closed before noon on Friday.

If you are traveling to the stores in the area you will need to use Coulter Street or Hope Road.   You will not be able to cross under, I-40 and Soncy.

The road will reopen by Monday.

The project to build a new eastbound bridge at I-40 and Soncy will take 3-4 months to complete.  Traffic will be down to one lane in each direction on the westbound lane.  The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic in June, then the westbound bridge demolition will begin and is expected to be finished by November.

TxDOT would like to remind you to slow down in construction zones and be aware of the workers in the area.
