As excited as we are for 'The Killing's third season to make a long-awaited premiere on AMC beginning June 2, we have a number of questions over how the Seattle murder-mystery drama will handle an all-new case, picking up from the successes and missteps of the first two seasons. 'The Killing's cast and creator Veena Sud recently addressed questions concerning the show's third season, and the answers might surprise you!

Whether or not 'The Killing' season 3 rights the wrongs of the first two seasons, we're excited to see two characters as well-drawn as Detectives Holder and Linden reunited for an all-new case. And while critics have their own questions and concerns, series creator Veena Sud and stars Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos recently took to answering fan questions about the new episodes premiering June 2. Some of them come across a bit generic, but the fun ones really make the above video worth watching.

‘The Killing’ season 3 picks up approximately one year after the Rosie Larsen case’s end, as Linden returns from retirement to help Holder with a case that ties back to one of her previous investigations. Showrunner Veena Sud told us that the new case drew inspiration from real-life incidents, including photographer Mary Ellen Mark’s work depicting street youths in the 1970s, and the police investigation of Washington serial killer Gary Ridgway, which involved 50 women disappearing over the course of 20 years.

In addition to the casting of Peter Sarsgaard as death row inmate Ray Seward, ‘The Killing’ season 3 also boasts ‘Battlestar Galactica’ vet Aaron Douglas, ‘Flashpoint’s’ Hugh Dillon, Johnny Ray Gill, Amy Semeitz, Max Fowler and Elias Koteas among its cast.

Watch the video above, and prepare for 'The Killing's season 3 return with your thoughts in the comments!
