The ‘Star Wars’ Saga Is Returning in 2015 and the Internet Has Lost Its Collective Mind About It

Will Star Wars VII be better than the prequels?
Lucasfilm Ltd.

There was big news today to keep our minds off the disaster on the East Coast.

First, the Walt Disney Company purchased Lucasfilm. And with that announcement came with an even bigger, more spectacular announcement … from a galaxy far, far away.

There will be a ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ and it will arrive in 2015 — which isn’t even that far away.

The $4 billion purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd. — yes billion with a B – has bolstered director George Lucas’ belief that the saga should continue, as well as bolstering his financial ability to make it happen.

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see ‘Star Wars’ passed from one generation to the next,” he said in a release. “It’s now time for me to pass ‘Star Wars’ on to a new generation of filmmakers.”

Yes, Mr. Lucas. Please pass it on to other filmmakers. We can think of a few who could rescue the franchise you put in peril with your thin storylines and masturbatory computer-generated remakes. And we can’t help but be excited at the prospect of new blood.

Hey, wait a minute. This new merger means Marvel Comics and ‘Star Wars’ are under the same roof now, so will there be Wookies and Hutts in the next ‘Avengers’ flick?

Just please please please please please — a million times please — let Joss Whedon have the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. We know he could work some spectacular magic with it.
