Regardless of the mixed reception to 'The Walking Dead's' season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs," there can be no denying the skyrocket success of AMC's acclaimed horror-drama. With the fourth season set to premiere this fall, and popularity at an all-time high, could a future 'Walking Dead' movie already be in the works? According to series star Chad Coleman, it might be time to start buying tickets!

Since actors and newly minted series regulars alike provide the definitive authority on creative decisions, 'The Walking Dead' movie may get off the ground sooner than we think. In an interview with MTV Geek, 'The Walking Dead' star Chad Coleman (Tyreese) apparently confirmed his belief that increasingly popular zombie apocalypse series would make it to the big screen before long

I think it should happen. I think it would be amazing, I think it would catch on like wildfire. Everybody would love that just as well as they talk about 'The Wire' movie. I really think a 'Walking Dead movie is going to be in the works not too far down the road, and I think it's gonna take them by storm.

Right. Well, if you need us to report about Chad Coleman joining a big-screen 'Walking Dead' adaptation, or 'The Wire' for that matter, we'll be right over here, on the edge of our seats.

While we wait for season 4, the next run of ‘The Walking Dead’ will introduce ‘The Wire’s’ Lawrence Gilliard Jr. as haunted Army medic Bob Stookey, while actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney have all been upgraded to series regulars. AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey’s villainous Governor would also return in season 4 as a series regular.

You can check out Coleman's interview on a 'Walking Dead' movie in the clip below, and tell us in the comments if you think AMC's drama should spawn a big-screen adventure for Rick Grimes and the other survivors!
