The World Mourned the Loss of the King, Elvis Presley, 35 Years Ago Today

Now why would I remember the death of the King?  How is it I know when Elvis died.  It isn't because of everything on the internet.  It is because it is part of the story of when I was born.

When my mom would tell me about when I was born, it always includes the story about her sitting in the hospital holding me the day after I was born.  She was in her room holding me watching the news talk about how Elvis had died.

Elvis Aron Presley died on August 16, 1977.  Less than 24 hours after I was born.

It was funny, I was talking to my mom this morning and she said today is the anniversary of Elvis' death.  I replied with "hmmm, how many years ago was that?"  Yeah I had my blonde moment of the day.
