Texas is more than just tumbleweeds and mooing cows. There are a lot of amazing things to see in the Lone Star State.

Being new to Texas, I'm always looking to do something that is "Texas". While I haven't done any of these things, they are on my bucket list.

Visit the State Fair of Texas

The State Fair of Texas is legendary. They have the largest Ferris Wheel in the U.S., Big Tex welcoming you at the door, and fried EVERYTHING.

    Go To the Rodeo

Being from out of state, I've never experience a real, Texas rodeo. They are one-of-a-kind. Horses are kicking up dust, there's cold beer and loud music... it just sounds like a ball to me.

    See the Bluebonnets

Not only is the bluebonnet the state flower of Texas, but it's also something of a rare gem. Most people think Texas is flat and dusty, but in South Texas, fields of green and blue cover the hills. Some of the best artists in the country can't even capture the beauty of the bluebonnets, so I better see it in person!

    Jump In Jacob's Well

Texas actually has a lot of beautiful lakes and springs. I've seen the pictures of Jacob's Well, one of the most beautiful spots in Texas, and it definitely deserves a spot on the bucket list.

    Party on Padre Island

I might not be a college girl, but I'd love to spend a weekend in Padre Island. It's hard to imagine going to the beach in Texas, but it's actually possible! I'd probably see the lights in Corpus Christie and shores of Galveston while I'm at it.
