Watch Saturday Night’s Touching ‘SNL’ Opener
As a way to address this past Friday’s unfortunate tragedy in Newtown, CT, ‘Saturday Night Live‘ opened their most recent episode — hosted by alum Martin Short — with a heartfelt performance of the Christmas classic, ‘Silent Night.’
It was a startling change of pace from the usual show opening sketch. With dimmed lighting, glowing Christmas lights and a quiet studio, the New York City Children’s Chorus belted out a hauntingly beautiful and emotional version of the carol, letting all those who were struck by this disaster know that our thoughts and prayers are forever in their company.
