Black and white prints are timeless, but they are hotter than lava this season. All the celebs are rocking black and white, which usually pops with the addition of red from either lipstick or accessories.

Miley Cyrus:

The drama queen and gossip magnet — who is, lest we forget, also a singer and actress — went wild at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards with her black and white crocheted Balmain jumpsuit. It was daring and not for everyone, but it was an extreme, court jester’s take on the B+W trend.

Gwyneth Paltrow:

Leave it to Gwynnie to add to the black and white print trend with some other colors. Her dress could match the floor. Oh, and nice pedi. (Seriously, WTF? Since when does the most beautiful woman in the world go polish-free?)

Demi Lovato:

Lovato’s black and white dress is pretty and sweet — and demure for her, since we’re used to seeing her cloaked in lots of tough girl black leather. She accessorized with black (belt, tights, shoes) and we can’t argue with the results.

Heidi Klum:

The model’s black and white striped maxi makes a statement, and a beachy one at that. A tall girl can pull this billowy frock off. But petite ladies? Stay away — it will swallow you whole.

Olivia Palermo:

A maroon bowling bag gives a kick in the butt to the socialite’s unusual black and white dress, which is masculinized by those glossy “I stole ‘em from Taylor Swift‘s closet” oxfords.
