United Supermarkets, including Amigos and Market Street, have voluntarily pulled all Mexican-grown mangoes off the shelves including those in the fresh cut packaged fruit.  This decision comes after a possible salmonella outbreak in other parts of the country.

According to Tommy Wilkins, director of produce procurement for United Supermarkets, LLC.

"There is no evidence at this time that any products that have come through our stores were contaminated – we are simply taking every precaution in an effort to protect the welfare of our guests.”

The recall includes the Daniella brand with the number 4959.

United also has pulled five fresh cut fruit products which contain mangoes and bear the Market Street label. They are:

10-ounce Season Blend (UPC # 0-77815-00107-2),
16-ounce Season Blend (UPC # 0-77815-00106-5),
10-ounce Strawberry Kiwi Mango (UPC # 0-778915-0016-4),
16-ounce Strawberry Kiwi Mango (UPC # 0-77815-00115-7),
10-ounce Mango Spears (UPC # 0-77815-00117-1).

Anyone who purchased any of the above food products between August 12th and 28th can return the unused portion of the product to any United Supermarket for a refund.
