'Vampire Diaries' actor Zach Roerig is going through some major drama in his personal life right now. Not only does the 28 year old, who plays Matt Donovan on the CW series, have a 2-year-old daughter, but he's also in the midst of a fierce custody battle over the child with his ex-girlfriend, Alanna Turner, who is currently serving time in prison.

TMZ obtained legal documents that were filed legal in Georgia last month confirming that Roerig is, in fact, the father of a 2-year-old girl... News to all of us, right? The child, whose name has not been confirmed, was born in Jan. 2011 to Roerig and his now ex, Alanna Turner.

It looks as if the paperwork was submitted to the court in hopes that the 'Vampire Diaries' star can obtain full custody of his daughter. The situation is serious, as the child's mother is currently incarcerated for pleading guilty to "various crimes" and has apparently been arrested at least three times.

In addition to his request for full custody, Roerig is also asking for his baby mama to pay child support. We're not sure how that will work out, considering Turner is currently behind bars, but we sincerely hope everything works out for Roerig and his daughter.

Before this bomb dropped, the actor made news for dating his 'Vampire Diaires' co-star Candice Accola. However, that relationship ended in May 2012.

Roerig's rep declined to comment.
