What is Figgy Pudding?

Have you ever been singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas and come to the line "Oh bring us some figgy pudding."  What the heck is figgy pudding.  E asked me last night, "Mom what is figgy pudding?"  I told him it was pudding made out of figs.  Which isn't that what it is?  OK maybe not, but let's find out what exactly is Figgy Pudding?

So what is Figgy Pudding?  Apparently Figgy Pudding is a pudding made our of figs (see I was right).  It dates back to 16th Century England.  It is a popular Christmas pudding that was mainly made in the British Isles.  It can be baked, steamed in the oven, boiled or friend.

So if you want to make Figgy Pudding maybe this will help.

I'm not sure how I feel about this?  This stuff just seems weird.  Don't get me wrong I'd try it, i just seems weird.
