Why I Adore Paul McCartney
I’ll be the first to admit, I was never a huge Beatles fan. I loved the Sgt. Pepper’s album, but other than that, they were The Beatles. I could take them or leave them ( I know I just heard a loud gasp). However, many years ago, we were playing Silly Love Songs a lot on Mix and I just fell in love with the song. So why is it I say I adore Paul McCartney? One reason, a little boy that calls me mom.
When E. was born one of the sure fire ways to get him to sleep was to sing to him. So instead of singing lullabies to him, I would sing Silly Love Songs. Over and over again as I would walk back and forth across the living room. Over and over again as I would rock back and forth in the chair. Keeping rhythm as I patted his tiny little tushy over and over again. The great thing about it, it always worked.
Paul McCartney and the Wings, helped me put my baby to sleep over and over again.
So why do I adore Paul McCartney? He wrote Silly Love Songs, a song I equate to a precious memory.
I got the song stuck in my head not to long ago and I was walking around the house singing it as I was cleaning and Ethan said “momma why do I know that song?”
