Worst Public Bathrooms In Amarillo

It's been quite a while since I had to take a bus anywhere, but I do recall that the last time I was in the bus station and went to the restroom, I instantly turned around and walked out. I'm not sure about all bus stations, but Amarillo has to have the worst public bathroom ever. I still wake up in cold sweats from nightmares of this bathroom. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit. But, I will definitely make it a point to use the restroom before I go, should I ever have to ride the bus again.

Have you ever gone to the late movie at the theater and decided to use the bathroom before you left? Holy Moly, I never thought a bathroom could be that bad? I mean, the place looks nice and they make it a point to have the theater as presentable as possible. But, after an entire day of people coming and going, eating popcorn, candy and an icee here and there; these bathrooms end up being a place that I would rather not even walk into. Most of us love going to the movies with the family or even on date night, but you might want to make it a point to avoid the bathroom if you catch the late show.

I think almost everyone on the planet has been in a Wal-Mart at least once, and here in Amarillo, I think most of us spend at least an hour or two there per week. If you have ever been to the Wal-Mart on Grand Street & I-40 you know what I'm about to share with you. The bathrooms in this place are hideous. Having a 6 year old kiddo, sometimes you have to go into a restroom because apparently when your 6, you cannot hold it. This has prompted the 'Wal-Mart' Rule in our house ~ anytime we are going to Wal-Mart, everyone who is going HAS to use the restroom before we go. Me, my wife and the kiddo all go in order to avoid having to walk into the dreaded Wal-Mart bathroom.

My daughter loves this place! I mean, pizza and video games? What kid doesn't want to eat at this place? Honestly, I like the pizza and video games as well as their salad bar and pasta. Loading up the family and going to Gatti's can always be fun and depending on what night you go, affordable too. What I'm not a fan of is using their restroom. First and foremost, you have a building full of mostly kids that go in there and just go nuts basically. There is paper everywhere and you can imagine the condition of the rest of it.

If you have kids (or are just a kid at heart) you might find yourself at the park from time to time. Having a 6 years means we spend quite a bit of time at the parks around Amarillo. Honestly, it's a lot of fun for the whole family. Most times the 'toys' are big enough for adults as well. If have learned the hard way that when you fall off the monkey bars when your 35, it hurts a lot worse than when your 5. Spring, Summer and Fall are perfect times to spend time in our parks, if you can handle the heat. One warning, don't even bother going to the bathroom at John Stiff park though. I think the fact that it is always busy and frequented by teenagers leave these bathrooms completely disgusting. Many times vandalism has completely clogged the toilets leaving them completely unusable.

Adult League softball is a pretty big deal here in Amarillo. I have been on many teams throughout the years and have always enjoyed playing. Spending time with friends, being out of the house and active and getting to hit some softballs is a great way to spend you days. The one thing I have noticed over the years, is that the bathrooms are consistently horrible. It shocks me that they have not torn these old buildings down and put built newer nicer facilities. So, go and have a blast playing ball. But, remember to cool it on the suds, or you'll find yourself having to use a restroom that you won't soon forget.
