Amarillo has several nationally-recognized restaurants, but this fast food chain is supposedly the best of the best.

Taco Bueno was named America's Favorite Mexican Chain by Market Force Information. The small fast food restaurant has been in business since 1967, where it opened its doors in Abilene, and became a franchise in 2005.

They serve basic Tex-Mex dishes like burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and nachos, as well as some specialty items, like the "Muchaco," a taco with a pita shell, and the "Chilada," a chili- and queso-smothered enchilada. They've also been serving breakfast since 2007, much longer than Taco Bell.

Bigger chains like Chipotle and Qdoba have won the title in the past. These restaurants have locations in almost every state, unlike Taco Bueno, which can only be found in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado. Taco Bueno also beat one of the most well-known fast food Mexican joints in the country, Taco Bell.

The restaurant prides itself on having fresh ingredients. They offer online ordering and catering services.

You can visit Amarillo's Taco Bueno at 6001 I-40 West.
