I’m a transplant to the Texas Panhandle but I lived here longer than I did in Tornillo, Texas. I moved here to attend college and fell in love with Amarillo, and it’s four separate seasons. I began my broadcasting career in El Paso, at age 14, so I was a grizzled veteran when I got to the panhandle. If you can name an Amarillo station, I’ve probably worked there. I graduated from WT, and married a girl I met in McCaslin Hall. Our two boys were born and went to school here. One works in Austin television and the other is a Marine. We have two dogs, and a cat to keep us company. I’ve been inducted into the Texas Panhandle Broadcasters Hall Of Fame, something I’ve very proud of. My music taste extends from The Beatles to Katy Perry and everything in between. I am a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and one of my dogs is named “Romo.” We watch a lot of old movies, binge on Netflix, and travel when we can. I love the arts, the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, the canyon, and our enormous selections of restaurants. I read…a lot, with Stephen King and Erik Larson, being my favorites. I love living here and the panhandle in my forever home. I consider myself very lucky to have been adopted by the wonderful people who live here. My days are filled with handshakes, hugs, and nice notes on social media. Thank you for spending your morning with me.
