If you're kids are like the Energizer Bunny and keep going and going and....well they can make it to midnight,. However, as a younger kid it's tough to stay up until Midnight, (especially if they were up at 5am), to see the ball drop and ring in the New Year on New Year's Eve.

One of the best Christmas stories this time of year is Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." It's a great story and many movies have been made about the book. It's fun to read and it's fun to watch. It's a story of evolving and realizing the true meaning of Christmas. This year, the Amarillo Little Theatre's Academy will be presenting "A Christmas Carol" live on stage.

You have seen the tree all your life, that Christmas tree set up in Westgate Mall covered in small paper angels. It may look just like a tree covered in angels, but each angel on that tree represents a child in Amarillo who would like to have an amazing Christmas. A child who would otherwise go without on Christmas morning.

One of the best parts of the holiday season in Amarillo is Center City's Electric Light Parade. A parade that lights up downtown Amarillo. Thousands of people descend on downtown to revel in the craftiness of each float.

I am one of those get your Christmas shopping done early type people. I usually start the last week of October and I'm done by the end of November. Which nothing has changed. I'm moving right along with those gift purchases, however this morning I realized something that made me very sad.

Now that Halloween is over, let's face it, the holidays are here and ramping up. With the holidays brings people coming together to help out those that are less fortunate. The Eveline Rivers Christmas Project is looking for volunteers this holiday season.

Even if you have a passing relationship with Pop Culture, you'll probably still recognize most of the character costumes, you see on Trick Or Treat. We all love Wonder Woman, Harry Potter, and Dracula, but I always hand more goodies, to kids whose costume, makes me think "Who is that suppose to be?"
