With Spring upon us in Texas, and then the end of school in May, parents are making plans to hit the road for some downtime. If you're making plans to trek across the Lone Star State, here are some national and state parks to consider that would make for an awesome experience.

As a kid, I would always get so pumped up about where we were going to go during spring break or summer break. Most of the time it was during the summer that we would hit the road and check out national parks like Dinosaur Valley in Glenrose, or just cruise south of Abilene to Buffalo Gap State Park.

It doesn't matter if you're into swimming, hiking, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, or any number of outdoor activities, there is something for any adventurer right here in the great state of Texas.
