
Which Amarillo Restaurants Closed in 2025? Find Out Here
Unfortunately, restaurants come and go in Amarillo. The never-ending circle of life when it comes to places to eat in our city. This year, like the ones in the past, has been hit with a lot of closings already, and we are not even halfway through the year.
We have seen a couple of pizza places close in Amarillo. One that has been a child's favorite and a big place for birthday parties for generations of families. We have seen burger places close, too.
The Amarillo Restaurant Closings of 2025 Hit Pizza and Burger Places Hardest
One burger place lost several locations around Texas, meaning that DQ is no longer what they like about Texas. Several small towns lost their staple Dairy Queen location.
If you are a fan of Cajun food, then you saw one less place in town for that. They tried to hang on my moving locations, first, but in the end, The Lost Cajun said goodbye.
Compiling and organizing this latest list of closings really had only one that got me in the feelings, and that was Chuck E. Cheese. That is where my daughter had her 4th and 5th birthdays growing up. Her 5th was just days before September 11th, her actual birthday.

Now, as my granddaughter is nearing her 4th birthday, we have planned to have that here in Amarillo at Chuck E. Cheese's this September because she loves that mouse. I don't know how to break that closing to her.

I am hoping that the closings slow down for a bit or at least don't hurt so much. We really don't want anymore of the nostalgia of our area going away.
