Big Jim’s Pizza Feeds Kids If SNAP Stops

One of the things about Amarillo is that the people and businesses really do care. We have many events to help the kids in our city. Then there are things that make our city even better.

With the uncertainty of the SNAP benefits for next month, there are plenty of families that are worried. It's a real thing to worry about where food for our families is going to come from next month, with the Government Shutdown still not being settled

SNAP Uncertainty Leaves Families in Need

There are families already struggling to receive a paycheck. Now they may not receive the food that they count on. So it's great to see an Amarillo business jump out with some help.

Big Jim’s Pizza Steps Up to Help

We already know that Big Jim has a big heart to match. Recently, he came out to help families that are already worrying:

If SNAP benefits are still not funded by November 1st, then Big Jim’s Pizza will be offering a free slice of pizza to kids (15 & under) — because every child deserves to be fed, and community means looking out for one another.

How great is this? If SNAP is gone. Big Jim knows that they are going to need dinner each and every night, and his business is here to help make that happen in Amarillo.

How the Free Slice Program Works

How It Works:
• Offer valid for pick-up only.
• The parent or guardian must show both a SNAP card and a driver’s license or photo ID.
• Children must be present to receive their slice.
• Each child (15 & under) will receive one free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza per day.
• We’ll do our best to keep slices warm and ready so families can grab them quickly and easily.

If a parent or guardian would like to place an order, we’ll take 10% off your meal too — because sometimes we all need a little help.

They are also making it easy for others to jump in and help. They, though, want volunteers to wait until after November 1st, when we know for sure whether the SNAP benefits are gone or not. If so, there are ways for Amarillo to help.
