Things change and change often when you are delivering food in Amarillo through DoorDash. Some changes come and go with just a few days to complain. Like when they wanted us to have the restaurant open the bag and confirm the food. Who has time for that?

That was one thing that started, and just as fast as it did, it was gone. Now they give us a screen that says "verify order", it's basically the same thing, but gives us the option to say we can't verify because the bag is sealed. A quick fix, and we are on our way.

Some things that stay the same if the fact that DoorDash makes sure that they make their money, and they don't often care for the ones who deliver. At least that is the way I see it with their new "Top Customer" notification that some of us have been receiving.

Top Customer Badge Doesn't Mean the Same for Everyone

Great, they are letting us know that this Amarillo customer is a sort of VIP, and to make sure they are getting proper attention, I guess. Except that I really do treat every order with urgency and proper care. I mean I really do, so ok, whatever.

When you get a screen that lets us know that the customer is a top customer,r it has this message:

Top customer - deliver with care. Extra attention to this order could lead to higher tips and ratings. Double-check the order and follow any instructions.

What about this customer makes them a top customer, I wonder? I have started to receive this message. The first time I did, the customer tipped me a dollar. OK, so they tipped, I guess that is good.

The next two customers who were supposedly top customers didn't leave me a penny. No tip whatsoever. So, DoorDash, I don't care if they are a top customer. They are not a top tipper. They are a non-tipper. Maybe, as DoorDash, you like them because they order a lot.

That is fine. Don't expect and notify the delivery driver that they are a top customer if their tip doesn't match. They may be a top customer for the company, but they sure are not one as far as we are concerned. Stop lying.

The Many Changes of Coulter Street Over the Years

There have been many businesses that have come and gone on Coulter Street. Some have even been there so long that they have received face lifts over the years.
