Amarillo’s New Indian Restaurant Quietly Opens on Paramount

UPDATE: I excitedly sent a text to a friend letting her know that there is a sign up finally and that it is officially "Flavors of India".

The ever-changing face of Amarillo restaurants has struck again. It was not too long ago that we were anxiously awaiting a second location of Mariscos El Victor (formerly Mariscos El Big Boy) on Paramount Street. They even started the project with a mural of their logo on the building.

Then, as quickly as that was happening, it also stopped. The building, though, has moved on. In fact a new restaurant is already open. They didn't even have any signage up, but they were open for business.

A Surprise Restaurant Switch in Amarillo

The new location at 2028 Paramount Boulevard is Flavors of India. So, for those keeping score, that is the third Indian food location on the Paramount/Olsen Boulevard stretch.

Flavors of India has now joined Indian Oven and Sai Indian Cuisine. It’s an unexpected choice for the area, but it adds choices. They are all over social media with their menu and introducing themselves to us.

They want to make sure that we know they are open. When I drove by on Saturday, the Marisco's logo was still painted on the side of the building. No signage indicated the new restaurant had opened, but there were vehicles and people inside.
