[GALLERY] Amarillo’s Secret to Learning and Having Fun

Amarillo has so much fun for the families to go out and experience. We have activities that are seasonal like all the Christmas fun we just experienced. There will be fun activities this spring, summer, and fall as well. We do not lack for fun things to do.

There are some places that are around year-round to grab the family and head out to. One of those places is the Don Harrington Discovery Center. I used to take my daughter all of the time when she was little. We used to have so much fun. Then as life happens she grew up and our trips ended up stopping.

Then I was given the best gift of all, a granddaughter. So that meant we had to introduce her to the fun as well. She lives in Dallas but the one thing we always do when she comes to Amarillo is plan a day to play at the Discovery Center.

The first thing she fell in love with at the Discovery Center was the two dinosaurs outside. What kid doesn't love dinosaurs?

The thing that I love about the Discovery Center is the fact that kids don't realize while they are playing is that they are actually learning about things too. We don't have to let them know it is educational. All of the fun speaks for itself.

That is why the Discovery Center is a great place for kids to go to when school is out. Parents can take the kids for a fun-filled day or even sign them up for a camp. Either way, the kids are guaranteed to have a great time.
