Get Ready Amarillo – Much Needed Traffic Lights Are Coming
It's no surprise that ever since we found out about Buc-ee's coming to Amarillo we just can't get enough. When are they going to start hiring? When are they going to hire? What will be the first thing you grab when you walk through those doors? So many questions.
One thing that is not going to be a surprise is the amount of traffic that will be coming to the area. Not only will all of us in Amarillo be anxiously awaiting the opening and making sure we visit. We will also get a lot more people stopping as they are driving through Amarillo on I40.
Travelers will be making a point to stop and get their fill of Buc-ee's. It is going to be wild. People who work at Rick Husband International Airport are already planning their alternate routes to work. It's not a bad idea.
The one change that we have talked about before is there needs to be actual traffic lights in the area. The days of flashing red lights in all directions have to be gone. It would be a traffic nightmare if it didn't happen. It's a no-brainer.
Luckily those steps have been taken. The powers that be realize that yes, it was much needed and now is the time. So heads up, things are going to change and soon.
This is going to be a big change for everyone. It's a change that is needed. Luckily it is happening with plenty of time so Amarillo can get used to it. We are still not even for sure when they will officially open but now is a good time to start.
If they open up in February, which was the initial opening date, we will be surprised, but ready with that much training. If they open up in December as we suspect, we still have time to get ready.
Amarillo will soon have a Buc-ee's in the area and now we are about to have traffic lights to help make the trip a little smoother.
