When I went to the mail the other day I got a letter from the City of Amarillo. I opened it. I looked over it a bit and then I put it off to the side. It was something about my water line. I went about my business with plans to look at it more later on.

Then I saw a post pop up on social media asking about the letter. Oh, yeah that letter. The number of people chiming in that they received the same letter was amazing. I think everyone received some form of the water service line letter.

Mine stated that the material of my water service line is unknown. I am not the only one. So that means the next step is that the city will conduct a field inspection to confirm the material. Sounds like a lot of fun. Oh, and they will reach out with further information and next steps.

I felt better about this letter when I was sitting in a group with my coworkers and asked if they got the same letter. Everyone got the same letter and the same unknown material answer.

The City of Canyon is sending out its own form of the letter. So they are not just picking on us. It's just a thing that is happening.

So if you got this letter, don't freak out. I know that is what a lot of people tend to do. Wait and see what you are told. It is probably no big deal. That is how I am treating it. I love to be an optimist unless I am told otherwise.

Maybe that is not the way to go about life but why not? I am sure we are not all going to have issues.

It seems like most of the Amarillo water lines are in fact "unknown" and that is why most of us received these letters. You can read more about it HERE. You can donate once the campaign starts HERE.
