To Whoever Can't Bother to Return Their Shopping Carts,

Shopping carts. Why are they such an enemy to some people? To you in particular.  I mean how hard is it to treat them like they should be treated? How hard is it to return them to where they belong? It's like some people lose all sense of decency when they leave a store. You, my friend, seem to be the problem.

I get it. You probably just spent a lot of money. You had to haul that money suck out to your car. You then had to load all that spent money on eggs and such into your trunk. You are feeling deflated.

This is where the true test of your humanity starts. What do you do with your cart? You see this all around town. Any store that has a shopping cart. You will inevitably find carts all over the parking lot. Heck, our Walmarts even give us convenient cart return areas all over the parking lot. How much easier can they make it?

Really how much easier can they? What will it take to get you to walk that little bit and leave the cart where it belongs? Not next to the shopping cart return area. You have to actually make the effort to place it in the return to help others.

I know it doesn't matter how easy they make it. I can still make a trip to the Walmart on Georgia, or any of them really, and there will be carts not in their places. I know there is no real rule or law that you must return your cart to the store or to any cart return. It just seems like the right thing to do.

I mean especially here in the Texas Panhandle. You know where more often than not the wind will be blowing. Oh, and not at a calm speed anyway. How many car door dings are you causing with your laziness? Now I have a nice indention in my car because you couldn't be bothered.

It really is a simple process but one that some just will not follow. I'm looking at you.

That is where you can just really be judged by others who are watching. Oh, and people will judge. Nothing is worse than you pulling into a parking lot and that space you found has a cart just sitting there. Now you have to get out and move it so you can park without dinging your car. Really? I see it all the time. That is exactly what I just watched you do. You pulled out of your spot and left me your cart to deal with.

I'm not sure which is worse, what you just did, or a little variation. I mean there is the person who finds a place to park their cart where luckily it won't roll off but it's still not where it needs to go. So now some poor employee has to retrieve your cart and get it with all the other carts just so they can bring all carts back to the store.

I see people like you all of the time. I went to Target around Christmas time and there was not a cart to be found. Yes, it was Christmas, I get that so a lot of them were actually in the store. There was also a lot all over the parking lot. I know, they don't have as many corrals as Walmart does but they still exist. You don't have to park your cart in the grass. You are not doing anyone any favors.

So please for the love of all that is good make that extra effort. Just go that extra mile and return your cart. If you can't be bothered then at least only do your shopping at United Supermarkets where they do all of that for you.
