When you're on the road, many different fears can run through your mind. No, I'm not talking about getting in an accident, although that is a fear of many people, including myself.

I'm talking about things like blowing out a tire or most embarrassing, running out of gas.

The gas thing isn't a problem for me. I have a tendency to start worrying about it before the light ever comes on, but man do I start to get squeamish when that low-fuel light decides to light up. My wife is a different story. She has no problem letting it run down to 15-20 miles until empty.

I worry every single day she's going to run out of gas either on the highway or somewhere in the city. I almost anticipate the phone call that she needs me to get a gas can, fill it up and bring it to her.

So what do you do when something like no gas or a blown tire happens on the roadway? Well, there's something a lot of us don't even think about, and it's probably because the majority of us don't even know it's available to us.

Pull out your driver's license for me. I'll wait.

Now, look at the back of it, right there at the bottom. See that phone number for Texas Roadside Assistance? All you have to do is call that number and they'll come out and help you with whatever it is you need.

Blown tire, need gas, etc. It's there and available for all licensed drivers. And just in case you didn't pull out your license, that number is 1-800-525-5555. Pretty easy to remember honestly.
