
From Tragic Loss to Triumph: Sticky Chikky’s Inspiring Year
What a year it has been for one Amarillo business that celebrated this past weekend. Sticky Chikky moved into Amarillo last June and in that short year has seen some dark days, but luckily has come out even stronger.
A Tragic Start for Sticky Chikky
Just two weeks after opening in 2024, the owners, Jimmy and Jean Snider, were in a tragic motorcycle accident that took the life of Jimmy. The accident also left Jean severely injured. Despite the tragedy, two weeks after opening, Sticky Chikky persevered.”

With a beginning like that, it didn't seem like a year later they would be going and better than ever, but that is exactly what happened over the weekend. They celebrated being in their location at Clinton Glenn Road in Amarillo with a big celebration.
500 Free Meals for Amarillo
That celebration gave back to the community, where they gave out over five hundred free meals. The cars lined up hours before they even opened. Some people even slept in their cars. That is some dedication to get the chicken, sticky rice, sauce, and lime.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Sticky Chikky?
In a year that has meant a lot to this store, it meant a lot to give back. It meant a lot to them to see our city wanting to celebrate what this past year meant to them. It only goes to show how much support and love they have. Here is to many more years of Sticky Chikky in Amarillo.
