
Classic Film Night in Amarillo, Texas: ‘The Goonies’ at Tascosa Drive-In Benefits Repairs
Who doesn't miss the simple times of living in the eighties in Amarillo? Who doesn't sit back and wish we could rewind just a bit? The music, the movies, the food. It just seems like those long-gone days were much simpler.
The movies of the time in the eighties define a generation. The adventures that they faced helped us dream of our own. The movies that shaped this time are the movies that we feel every kid growing up should experience like we did on the big screen.
Tascosa Drive-In's Movie Night Fundraiser
Since Tascosa Drive-in suffered some major damage after the land hurricane a few weeks they have been trying to go on like nothing happened. Major repairs still need to be done so damage like this doesn't happen again.

The community has rallied around them with donations through GoFundMe. They also got tattoos to support the cause. It's great to see all of the good that is happening at the drive-in.

The damage is not all repaired and they are not giving up. We want this business to succeed. A drive-in here in Amarillo was once thought never to happen when they closed a couple of years ago. With new ownership, this was going to be their first full season open when the weather hit.
They have not let this keep them down and want to bring us back to simpler times with a special night and a special viewing of The Goonies. A great time to rewatch or bring your kids to enjoy it for the first time.

Gates open at 7:00 PM, movie starts around 8:45 PM.
It’s gonna be a night full of adventure, laughs, and a whole lotta heart.
This is a special fundraiser night to help us recover from recent wind damage.Admission is donation-based—suggested donation is $20 per carload, but give what you can and come be part of the magic!
