Chick-fil-A Shares Official Recipes for Discontinued Texas Favorites
Many restaurants decide to remove menu items for a variety of reasons. Whether there isn’t enough demand for the dish, it’s a seasonal item, or any other reason, many customers are left disappointed and wondering how they can replicate their favorite discontinued dish.
Chick-fil-a understands this dilemma and decided to share some of their iconic recipes with the world on 'The Chicken Wire'. The two most prominent missed recipes I found were their coleslaw and their chicken salad. So, let’s take a look at those recipes as seen on their website.
- 4 Chick-fil-A Chicken Breasts (original or grilled), cooled & cut into 1" cubes
- 2.5 oz. celery (approximately 1.5 full stalks, washed, trimmed & cut into 1" pieces)
- 1/3 cup of sweet pickle relish 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
- 2 hard-boiled eggs (cooled & peeled)
“Using a food processor, mix chicken, celery, mayonnaise, and relish on low/medium for 5 seconds. Begin adding eggs 1 at a time and continue processing for up to 10 additional seconds or until salad is chopped to desired consistency. (Total food processing time needed is 10-15 seconds.)”
- 4 tsp distilled white vinegar
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ tsp dry mustard
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 10oz bags finely shredded cabbage, chopped
- ¼ cup carrots, diced
“Whisk vinegar, sugar, mustard and salt together until sugar is dissolved. Add mayonnaise and whisk to mix. Add cabbage and carrots. Mix to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.”
Not only do they share these discontinued recipes, but they also share recipes like their Original Chicken Sandwich, and ways you can get creative with some of their other menu items. You can find more information here.
