Update As Sticky Chikky Doubles Down in Amarillo

Amarillo is so good about giving us plenty of dining options, and we love to build them constantly, so we have more. Most of them take off and thrive; some even end up building multiple locations after the first one is a massive success.

We just got a second Chipotle location here in town, and it was needed as now there is one on each end of town. There's a restaurant that opened up in Amarillo a while back, and it was a place no one had even really heard of before...but man, did it take off in a hurry.

A Grand Opening Marred In Tragedy

Sticky Chikky opened up over a year ago, and it should've been the most enjoyable and proud moment for them. Instead, it turned to tragedy just weeks after the opening as one of the owners, Jimmy Snider, passed away due to a motorcycle accident.

Jordan's wife, Jean, was with him and survived the accident. However, she suffered 18 broken bones and had an extremely long road to recovery. This left their son, Jordan, to run the brand-new business and grow it, all while grieving and helping his mother in recovery.

Hard Work Through Grief Pays Off

Jordan was determined to push through and make the business a success. He went to the restaurant each day, immersed himself in it, and grew the business day by day. Word began to spread about Sticky Chikky, and people began to flow in. Everyone is coming out raving about the food and experience.

Business exploded at the restaurant, but one thing was holding it back from being even bigger than it was. Location. It's somewhat off the beaten path for many Amarillo residents, and they started screaming for something closer.

Location Number Two Announced

Well, Jordan and family listened and decided it was indeed time to bring the delicious food closer to more of Amarillo. They announced plans back in July for a second location to open on 34th and Osage, and now we have some updates on the progress.

As you can see, the structure is built, the signage is up, and now they're into the final stages of getting the doors open. Some work on the concrete around the building, finish up the parking lot, and we'll be stuffing our faces with that delicious Sticky Chikky before you know it!
