With all the high school sports playoffs and championships rolling along for the fall sports, Amarillo and Canyon are being represented extremely well. Football has five schools still remaining as they enter round two.

Naturally, a lot of the focus in the area ends up on football. It's the most popular sport, carries a ton of passion, and is arguably the biggest title to win in high school sports anywhere you live. However, there is a sport that has a team from the area that is on a dynasty run, and we should be paying attention.

Bushland High School Volleyball On A Run

In case you haven't been paying attention, and there's a good chance you haven't, the Bushland volleyball team has quietly been a dominant force in 3A for quite some time now. They have been to the state championship game five years in a row, winning four of those matchups.

Last season, they won the title and boasted the Globe-News Player of the Year in Mackenzie Sims, who went off to play in college at Southwestern Oklahoma State. Many thought the program would take a step backwards, losing Sims to graduation, but they couldn't have been more wrong.

Set To Play In Sixth Championship Game In A Row

The dominance has continued for the Lady Falcons as they punched their ticket to their SIXTH consecutive title game. They knocked off Ponder on November 15th to get into the game, where they'll face Goliad for another state title.

Goliad won't be an easy test; they did go 43-3 on the season, but the Lady Falcons are confident they can bring home their third title in a row and fifth in the last six years. They'll battle the Tigerettes for the title tomorrow, Friday, November 21, at 11 am at the Curtis Cullwell Center in Garland.
