It all started with a tragedy here in Amarillo. A new restaurant opening, which should've brought nothing but joy to its owners, turned to something unimaginable just weeks after they opened the doors.

A motorcycle accident took the life of Jordan Snider's father, Jimmy, while his mother, Jean, suffered 18 broken bones but survived. However, it completely changed the lives of the brand-new business owners.

Sticky Chikky Is Thriving

Now, Jordan could've just walked away from it all, grieving the loss of his father and taking care of his mother. He didn't, though. he grabbed the bull by the horns and the few employees he had and pushed forward.

It was the right move. Sticky Chikky has been embraced by the community, and one year later, it's become a go-to spot for so many.

One-Year Anniversary Celebration With Free Food

To thank the community for everything, Jordan decided to celebrate being in business for a year by handing out free food. Now, Amarillo loves itself anything free, but nothing could've prepared Jordan for this.

People showed up the night before and literally slept in their cars to get a meal. He told the Amarillo Globe-News that even though he'd warned people, he may run out of food. They were unfazed.

Success Breeds Growth

With the one-year anniversary now behind him and the restaurant, Jordan recognizes the opportunity to do more, and that's exactly what he's going to do. It's time for Sticky Chikky to expand with a new location.

Jordan and his business partners are getting all prepped to open a new location that will be located off 34th and Osage, which I'm personally thrilled with since it gives us a new option to eat at during long baseball tournaments.

There is no timeline for it to open as of yet.
