An early morning robbery took place in Amarillo on April 30, 2025 and police are actively looking for leads in regard to the crime.

The Walgreens at 34th and Bell was allegedly held up just shy of 5 am this morning, and it appears the target was the pharmacy.

A member of the APD Media Team came to the door here at Townsquare Media around 8:15 am asking if we had surveillance. She explained that they believe the suspect may have driven through our parking lot during their getaway.

When we asked a bit about what was going on, she mentioned that at approximately 4:45 am, someone walked into the Walgreens on 34th and Bell, made their way back to the pharmacy, and pulled out a note stating he was armed.

Our understanding is that the suspect then made his way to the back, and began to grab everything he could.

We don't know just how much the suspect grabbed, or if there was anything specific they were after, but it does appear they were after the medications that are kept in the pharmacy instead of the money in the register.

As they were getting away, it appears the suspect may have potentially tried to drive through our parking lot.

Police are searching for a male suspect who was wearing a black hoodie, blue surgical mask, and black gloves. He was carrying a black garbage bag to place the medications he grabbed in it. The suspect is approximately six feet tall and has a slim build.

If you were in or around the area of 34th and Bell this morning between 4:45-5 am and saw anything suspicious, please contact APD at (806) 374-4400, or you can email them at stoppers@amapolice.org.
